At the heart of Tuitionin is a passion for education and a commitment to helping every student achieve their potential. Our journey began in 2000…

…when founders Mark and Karen Wadsworth recognised the need for personalised, high-quality tuition that went beyond what was available in the traditional school system. With a growing waiting list of students seeking one-to-one support, Mark and Karen launched what was then known as Maghull Maths Centre, offering small group lessons tailored to individual student needs.

Mark Wadsworth, a qualified maths teacher with over 40 years of teaching experience, brings his wealth of knowledge to every lesson, ensuring students receive expert instruction. Karen Wadsworth, who manages appointments and the day-to-day operations of the Centre, is the welcoming face of Tuitionin, helping families feel supported and confident from their first consultation.

As the business grew, so did the Wadsworth family’s commitment to providing the best possible education for local students. Their son, Jack Wadsworth, joined the business full-time after completing his own teaching qualifications, becoming the Head of English at Tuitionin. Together with long-term family friend, Manager Kim Moore and Assistant Manager Dominic Newton, the Wadsworths have built a dedicated and experienced management team that ensures the highest standards of tuition.

Mark Wadsworth (Headteacher): With over 40 years of teaching experience, Mark is passionate about helping students achieve in maths, even when they doubt themselves.

Our long-term commitment to our students is reflected in the fact that some families have been with us from primary school through to GCSEs and beyond, with former students now bringing their own children for lessons.
